Finally, in a not-at-all surprising piece of news, Grab has decided to discontinue the GrabPay card with effect from 1st June 2024. To explain, Grab wishes to concentrate its effort on PayLater by Grab and GrabPay Wallet instead. With this in mind, let’s learn about the changes in time to come.
From Now until 31 May 2024
At this time, you will still be able to use both the virtual and physical GrabPay card. For the most part, you will continue to earn GrabRewards points so long as you spend at the selected merchants.
Foreign Transactions
It is important to realise that Grab will no longer support foreign transactions after 31st May 2024. This is because such transactions are processed on the GrabPay Wallet through GrabPay card.
What if You have a transaction dispute on GrabPay Card?
In this situation, Grab will continue to assist the ongoing disputes or investigations until 30th September 2024.
How to continue to earn GrabRewards
In order to continue to earn GrabRewards points, you will need to use Grab’s other payment services such as PayLater or GrabPay Wallet.
What will happen to Your GrabPay Wallet
By and large, there is no changes to your GrabPay Wallet. Accordingly, you may continue to use your GrabPay Wallet for Grab transactions.
What’s Next?
Ever since Grab took on a self-destruct style of revamping its GrabRewards programme on 14th October 2022, many of us have abandoned the card already. As a result, there isn’t much to lament over the discontinuation of the GrabPay card.
